i believe if you have a dealer install aftermarket springs that are not trd, they may void your warranty. and it is for sure that if you have them installed at a local shop it will be cheaper than at the dealership. look to spend $70

Just do it yourself and spend the money on tools instead of labor. No one will treat your car like you will...

these are way easier than honduhs

no aftermarket shop should charge more than $100
w/o alignment

i work at a dealer ( not Toyota though)
kinda depends on the dealer
we would not cover the aftermarket components and realted items (shocks/struts)
if they wanna beal real jerks they could not cover wheel bearings, axles and possibly tranny because you have altered the axle angle and "put more stress on the inner CVJ's" and forget about EVER complaining about noises or rattles
they shouldn't screw with you on the brakes but ????
I never use my warranty anyway, i am a mechanic
i know that is less than helpful for you though

you could always ASK the service dept
i get questions like this from customers every week
we like fair warning, if we get a car in with broken parts and THEN find aftermarket components were the cause, it's gonna be expensive

remember that the dealer has to find your parts the cause of the damage
they cannot guess just because they are not factory parts
they must prove the parts did the damage and it would not have occured with factory parts. some dealers where i live want to try this route and it is wrong
if you have problems look up SEMA for backup
but you better be right if your gonna call the big guns

wow this was pretty long, sorry

hotbox05 (Darren) will installed springs for $50. He's up here in NorCal (Sacramento), but if coming up here for ExpreSCION, i'm sure you guys could arrange something. I've got my springs installed by him twice, and once w/ new shocks too. Great guy. Definitely would recommend him, esp at that price!

about warranty, the "Magnussen Moss Warranty Act" states that no warrant can be void due to aftermarket part unless it is teh aftermarket part that does teh damaga. AKA they say you dont get tranny fixed cuz you swapped intake, sue them!

I would think that the dealer would try to make their customers happy anyway. I whole thing about Scoin is to get the youth buyer and keep them as a dedicated Toyota customer forever. They have nothing to gain if they get the customers upset. Yes if the mods you do cause the damage they I would agree but not to use it as an excuse to deny warrenty work. Toyota pays the dealer for the work anyway.

I am changing my springs out and I am not worried. The dealer has been increadable so far.

So far the best price I came up with is $200 here in Michigan. Another quote at a spring shop was $280.

Wish the weather was a little better up here so I could do it myself. No fun trying to do this in the snow.

I was told $130 from a certain shop.
I was looking more at $100 for installation.
Too much for $130?
I just don't want any problems after a few miles ya know.

I think spring installs are pretty easy to do. If you take a look at the DIY in the tech section, you'll see just how easy it is. There are even pictures.
