Default Need help on wheel fitment!

I am considering a few different types of wheels on my 06, STOCK xB. It's not lowered, and I want to know if the following rim sizes will fit b/c the offsets are pretty high. I would preferably like to run a 225/35-18 but can live with 215/35-18.

18 x 7.50 - +48 offset

18 x 7.50 - +42 offset

18 x 8.50 - +35 offset

And im pretty much a noob at aftermarket wheels.. will more offset make my wheels poke out from the side of my xb more or not?

Thanks! I tried searching, but couldn't find a direct answer for a non-lowered xB.

If you are going with 18s, you should run 215/35R18. The 225s are more expensive and not likely to be found on hand at your local tuner shops or tire stores. Since your box is not lowered, you can go with any offset you would like. The lower positive offset means the wheel will "poke out" more. So a +48 will be further tucked in than a +35. I run a +38 on my 18x7.5 and it's pushing it pretty flush in the front (I'm lowered on Tanabe DF210s). Running stock, you could run a 0 offset if you really wanted to... I don't think it would look very good without a widebody kit or some sort of fender flares on it.

I did a quick search for "offset calculator" on google and came back with some good details about how offset works.

Just curious... what rims are you looking at?

Ok thanks a lot for clarifying that for me..

And my family owns a repair shop, so I am getting the rims/tires at cost through one of our tire warehouses we deal with. Availability and cost are not so much of a problem, especially with the tires.

My favorite ones are these Drifz Venom:

And I will be running Yokohama Parada Spec-2 tires (same as i did on my Cobalt SS..)

On the Drifz venom, they are the 18 x8.50 w/ +35 offset.. think I can squeeze 215/40r18 or 225/40r18 on there or do i have to stick with a 35 sidewall??

Since you are not lowered, you might be able to get away with the 40 series. Keep in mind the size of the overall tire is oversized and the speedo will be a little off (showing 65 would be about 60mph), there's also issues that could come up with the brakes. The only concern I would have is whether or not you would rub with the wheel cranked all left or all right. However, it's only an extra half inch on the inside and outside. You might be fine even if you were to drop 1.5". Check the tire fitment thread though, there's lots of posts about specific widths, sizes, and drops.

Nice rims btw... would look hot on any color.
