Default XXR 513

So, after much hemming and hawing, I finally ordered some 513s from NLMotoring (between here and clubxb they seem to get good reviews). Well, that, and my hot water tank gave out this afternoon, so I needed to console myself by spending money.

I went for satin black with red stripes, 15x7 front, 15x8 rear. I'm on TRD springs, and all research says I should not rub (at worst, not enough to worry about much).

Naturally, pictures will follow once they arrive and I get my non-snows mounted.

They arrived yesterday in good order. As such, I can comfortably recommend NL Motoring.

Today, I pick up my non-snow tires from storage, and get them mounted next week.

It's all about the Washingtons (it's actually weird that I had any cash at all, in all fairness):

That's the plan. Excitement about new wheels will motivate me to get my car cleaned up for spring, too, since they'll look ridiculous on my filthy car.

Just got home, and took a couple of quick shots of my filthy car in fading sunlight.

Interestingly, my tire guy did not give me [redacted] about stretching the rears onto the 15x8s, but he did make me help him get them stretched (it's a one man operation; he's cheap and does good work). He had the fronts mounted when I got there after work, and said that throughout the afternoon, he got a lot of questions about my wheels, which is awesome.

The way I'm parked on my oddly-sloped driveway, it's hard to tell, but I have maybe 3/4" of wheel gap on level ground all around. We'll see if I need to roll the rear fenders (it's a distinct possibility).

This weekend, the box will get the first bath of the year, if the weather holds (which it better, I want to get some beer brewed, and it's a PITA to brew indoors).

195/60-15. Yes, quite meaty. They're 2% taller than stock. I'll admit, they made more sense when they were on the steelies.

These tires will get me through the summer; I'll shop around next spring for something less-huge, probably.

so are you rubbing with this setup? the tires dont look so bad, at least it probably rides nice, i plan on using 195-50-16 on my stagggered 16x8's and 16x7's, which should be a hair shorter overall than the stock tires

The rears rub some, if I corner too fast - sensible, gentle driving is perfectly fine. I had my snows+steelies in the back for a day, and it rubbed more, obviously.

I am going to look into rolling the rears, however, just to be safe.
