Default Yet another "will this offset fit? " thread..

Hello folks.
I got a chance to grab another XB.. yay! (Old one got stolen back in 2006).
Anyways, I'm building a scion xb.
I'm about to order a new set of wheels.
Will 18x9.5 +17 clear the rear strut?

Please let me hear from you guys.

not without a spacer. i have 17x7 +28 and i have a little wiggle room. 18x9.5+ 17 has 21 mm less inner clearance than i do, and i know that i don't have an inch of play between my wheel and shock, i have maybe 10 mm at best.

Hmm..
Less than an inch from your tire or actual wheel?

i'm sorry i'm going to correct myself, it's been a long day sorry! i was thinking 12mm = 1 inch and that's totally wrong. an inch is about 25 mm. it's about an inch and a half from the lip to the shock cover, so you'll have room. this is all theoretical though, so a test fit might be necessary since that's pretty close. plus there's this weird knuckle on the rear suspension of xa's and xb1s that extends out about 4 mm from the torsion bar. i accidentally scratched the lip of my mini cooper wheels on them.

i think 8x1/2 is the widest with out spacers.. i ran a 18x8 1/2 was almost touching the trailing arm im now 17x8 with a low offset and im still pretty close.
