Sway Bushings Question...This bad?
I looked under my box today and noticed the massive gap at the sway bar junction. Is this gap normal? I also noticed the rubber was detioriating a lot. I have 49000miles and havent replaced the bushings before. How crucial is it? BTW, everything is stock

Looks normal , for our cars.
How do you like your car to handle ?
Replace them before too long , there is a thread here some where that explains the mod, upgrade.
And that ain't nothin , I drove for 2 hrs with a broken stabilizer ( sway bar) in a mini van. Hit a pothole the size of an Xa during a rain storm. Now that was a fun ride home.

When I put in the energy suspensions bushings, I felt more of a difference in the ride than my new shocks.
It is worth your while. This link is just example of what they look like.
Mine are red.

You can do it this way also. This thread was before they made them specificly for the xB.
You can get them at Pep Boys or whatever.

Good luck and the ones you have now look pretty bad. You'll feel the difference if you change them out.

It's a very low cost easy to do mod that can be done by almost any shade-tree mechanic. Cost me about $22 after taxes and a six pack of PBR. The bastage drank two of my six pack. The difference in the end-link bushings is quite huge and highly recommended.
Yea, sadly, that's normal. Upgrade the bushings, it's well worth it.
