VIP is a style. many times it is associated with sleek looking body kits, air suspension, and large, low offset, highly cambered wheels. most of the times the wheels are dish style.

In Japan, VIP tuning kinda started out and was associated with the luxury cars/wagons. It's definitely based on looks. (Flush and often cambered wheel fitments, air suspension super low stances)

D-Up interiors (usually leather) that look more like fancy hotels.

Eventually, it morphed into more of a universal mentality that was not just limited to the high-end luxury cars (ex: VIP-tuned K-Cars etc.)
