Unhappy *Hupcap Ques*

I brought my Scion XB 2005 used about 2 months ago.
Everything’s great, but my hubcaps keep falling off (the previous owner must of had to replace the original Scion hubcaps because I noticed that Scion was nowhere on the ones I replaced). Now, I’m not going to lie, I’m a new driver so I do have the tendency to hit the wheel when I park and I have a narrow driveway so sometimes when I’ m backing out, my wheel will hit the curb of my driveway. Anyways, after buying some knockoff hubcaps last month, I already have to buy a second set because one of my front wheel hubcaps has come off.

Other than just don’t hit the curb, can anyone offer advice? A friend of mine suggested I get rims. I feel maybe I just need to buy hubcaps that screw on rather than the ones that snap on.

Please help. My Scion looks so unsightly with a missing hubcap!!!!

Don't buy rims if you can't quit hitting the curb :D You could probably find someone on here willing to sell you their old ones. I might even still have mine... they have been in storage at my mom's house for 4 years, no telling where they are.

So, you think the original Scion hubcaps may be a bit more tolerant?

I know the stock caps stay on pretty good, probably much better than the ones you get at an auto parts store.

See thats not fair, without your hubcaps, it still looks great because of you the color your scion. But mine is a deep burgundy and it seriously downgrades the car. Someone told me that slips ties may work best for me. I guess I'll give that a try.

naw, steelies look good on any color. My rears are pushed out 20mm, so it doesn't have that sunken in look. it helps. Those caps aren't stock. Ebay specials! They stay on good though! Stock caps, post up a "wanted" add in the classifieds.

I have my stock caps in a box, collecting dust. They're pre-curb-rashed (they came like that)! I'd be happy to give them away for the cost of shipping.

In all seriousness, however, I'd recommend hitting the steelies with a coat of engine enamel, and rolling around as such. It's hard to hurt steel wheels, and DIY paint is always the easiest to fix.

You need screw on these caps. They might even help with MPGs.

Those you have to drill holes in your wheels to mount. I don't think that's what the OP had in mind.

The press on ones are ok but they don't have holes for the valve stem. Gotta pull them off just to check tire pressures.
The bolt on ones would be the only ones to survive his parking adventures.

I have a set of snap-on Moon discs for my steelies, and they are a PITA as far as checking tire pressure goes. I have the actual aluminum Moon brand, and it takes a claw hammer or crowbar to pry them off, too.
