Default FEED UP WITH THESE TIRES !!!!

Has anyone else had the problem I'm having with my 2006 Scion XA? When I purchased brand new in the year 2007, it came with these attractive 18" RIMS and P235 35Z R18 tires. Six months after I purchased it, the front passenger side tire just blew out, I mean shredded wheat style. It was replaced under warranty. 2 months later, while at a red light, both the front and back driver side tires went flat simultaneously. When the tires was removed both looked like the first one. About every 6 months, the same thing has happened even now 3 years later. Every 6 months I get a front and back end alighments and still the same thing. I'm not a rough driver and although the streets in GA are horrible for potholes, I don't hit them at full speed and if possible, I avoid them. The oriiginal 36,000 mile warranty is expired but I have an extended warranty and these tires cost 176.00 for one tire. I just pay 50. I finally looked at the manufactuers specs and it showed P185/60R15. Could this be the reason why I'm experiencing this? Should not they have come with what the manufactuer recommended?

No, they should not have come with those manufacturer specified tires you listed. The ones from your specs are 15" tires, your car has an 18" wheel option, so you have to run 18" tires.

You don't need to use the exact same brand, or even the exact same size tire, but they do need to be close. The more stretch to them, the more likely they will pop.

If you want to run 15" tires which is the stock factory size, then you need to get a set of 15" wheels.

Below are the tire sizes Discount Tire's has listed for a 06 xA with 18" rims.

205/40-18
215/35-18
215/40-18

I personally run the 215/35-18 size but mine are all season tires. Maybe between the difference in the your tire size (P235 35Z R18 ) and that they are Z rated maybe they wear down faster? Don't know..just a guess.
