I look at the XB Lava as a unique creature, being it is such a unique creature I am on the prowl for some rims .... I would really like to keep the factory tires ( P185/60R15 ) and purchase the rims ... I am looking at the following rims from American Racing, they are the Avenger Chrome 157 / 4 bolt / 100 ..... My question and concern is being we have Brake Drums on the back, I would like to find a rim that the center of such a rim will cover (hide) the brake drum ....

Maybe I am used to being old school, going years back with a 71 GTO .... ??

So what is your opinion, will these cover the back drums ? Any suggestions on some outrageous rims that will work ?

i think you will see the drums no matter what you get.
they honestly dont look that bad though. They are very small drums, and they are painted black.

 

honestly, I hate American Racing Rims... but if you would like to look at a great web site were you can pick your car, and then they will give you a lot of sets that will fit...www.superbuytires.com. Hope this will help. Plus people may laugh at you seeing you with such a nice car with 300.00 wheels. just my fidy cent worth

 

I personally think they're ugly, but it doesn't matter what I think. If you like them, get 'em .

 

I did not give it thought about the cost / these rims are cheap, 115.00 each .

I have been out of the car scene for many years, almost 20+ ....

I have no problem spending $$$$ on a decent set of rims and tires .... All I want to do is make sure that the back drums are hidden ..... That is all I ask ....

Do you have any recommendations ? I do not want to have to get the speedometer recalibrated .....

I am able then to go and purchase any of the same style right, does the speedometer need recalibrated with that size ?

 

They remind me of the rims that came on the 1990-1996 Nissan 300zx

 

A style like this would cover the drum. Prolly heavy as hell though.

I think the wheels that Chief T. posted are Work Eurolines. Those give the xB both the classic "Chevy Astro" look and the contemporary Japanese look ... those would have been my first choice except for a "minor domestic disagreement" about them Oh, yeah, and they cost a small fortune in 15" and a large fortune in 19".

They may be available still. Shipping from California ain't cheap but it sure beats shipping from Japan!
