Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone out there has installed any of the slotted/drilled rotors that are available. If so, can you tell me where you bought them, brand?, etc.. How difficult to install? Do you have to install brearing and such? Any braking performance gain? Any info would be appreciated.

and on in stalling them i think you just pull off the calipers and the calipers mounting hardwear and pull off the rotor

 

On Toyotas you just undo the two bolts that hold the caliper bracket on and take everything off together and slap the rotor on them put it back.

Wow , very very overpriced , and what really sucks is when your pads eat up the rotors.

 

I just did an ebay search for 'xA rotors' and came up with about a dozen results. is one brand of rotors just as good as the next? anybody know of any good companies aside from brembo or rotora that make drilled/slotted rotors for our cars?
why would the pads eat up those rotors?

 

you can upgrade to some big brakes, i know willwood has a production kit with 4 piston rototrs for a fair price, or you can go big like a few of my friends have on their xbs and get 13in rotor with 6 pistons (waaaaay too much brake) lets just say they stop un-nervingly fast

Stock pads are very hard , thus eating into any rotor , and I for one would rather eat pads once a year than eat rotors every other year , even if the softer pads cost almost twice as much as stock.With the better pads you will stop faster , as well as prolong that investment you just made in high quality rotors.

 

so i did a little edu-macation and learned that drilled rotors are more prone to crack, and may as well just stick wth slotted only rotors.
also, where can i get these "soft" pads ??? any suggestions hotbox?

Actually if rotors are drilled and chambfered after being drilled they are safe , there are cars out there that come stock with drilled and or slotted rotors so..... I had em on my supra for over a year no problems , I got a set of 4 zinc coated drilled and slotted for 194.00 shipped , Thats why I think that price is expensive. Soft pads look up EBC.
