Default What order should I do things?

Ok, I am buying my XB within the next month and I am wondering in what order I should buy my upgrades. It is probably going to be a monthly process. But I would just like some input.

I am gonna order this:

XB with:
-Spoiler
-Rear Bumper Applique

Upgrades:
-17" Wheels
-TRD Lowering Springs and Struts
-Speakers/Sub/Headunit HU is gonna be the double din Kenwood DDX7015
-Foglights
-Projector Headlights and TYC Tail lights

Just give me an order you think I should do things would be great.

The way youve got it ordered right there looks like something I would do! Thats the samw road I took except no foglight or taillights.

Might I suggest goen with something other than TRD springs. 1 inch is just not enough. But if you dont wanna go any lower, thats perfectly fine as well.

The reason I picked the TRD's is that I don't want to drop it really low. BUT!!!! Is there any problems using the TRD struts with a different brand of springs? There is a set on TRD sparks that has all the Hotchkis Strut bars and includes the springs. I was wondering if you guys have any opinions on those. At most, I would like 1.5-2 inch drop. Recommend some brands of springs if you would.

For me, I wouldn't even consider the rear bumper applique. Unless you actually plan to climb up and stand on the rear bumper, I don't see a real point in it.

I'm doing...

rear spoiler, springs, and wheels through the dealer.

alarm/remote start within 3 days of picking up the box.

day after that, I take it home, gut the interior and install the system (HU, components, coaxials, subs, amps).

Then some various touches... light bulbs, window tint perhaps, and such.

Now... if the dang thing would only get here!!!

The reason for the applique is due to the amount of Golfing I am going to be doing. I figure I will hit that top of the bumper a few times. With my new grad discount, I will get the spoiler free and the applique for $15 off.

I found 17" rims that are cheaper and nicer. They come with tires for $65 cheaper than the Scion rims.

Congrats on your choice! There is no right or wrong way to do your mods. Do them as you have the funds...

I went and did things in this order as I had money...

1. Injen Short RAM intake
2. Silver Star Lights
3. bB emblem (Since sold)
4. OBX pedal covers
5. OBX FatBoy Shifter
6. Tein STech Springs
7. Billet grill (Since removed)
8. CF Rear Spoiler
9. ScionFX Strut bar (Soon to be replaced by a DC)
10. RS*R Short Shifter (Soon to be replaced by a Randode Short Shifter)
11. OEM Billet Grill from a RS1
12 OEM TYC Tail lights

Still to come:

DC Cat back Exhaust
DC Headers
Projector Headlaghts
Graphics
Subwoofer/amp

I like the order you have them, except the foglights are kinda worthless.

For a spring reccomendation I would have to say Goldlines. 2" all around and the ride is better than stock.

I just like the look of the foglights over the spacers they have in there. I am gonna replace the fog bulbs with some silverstars and see how they work out. I think they would look pretty good. I will look into the gold lines. Anyone have any pics of a XB on 17's with goldlines?

You could probably do a search, and come up with some pics.

Makes perfect sense, in that case.

As for the foglights, I know where you can get a set for $200, still in the box. If you are interested PM or email me and I'll get you in touch with the seller.

That's what you think! It sounds like his stereo is gonna be in close competition, LOL.

I think you should do your mods in the order that gives you the most enjoyment. I installed my stereo first because I sit through rush hour traffic everyday and that's when having a really good stereo helps pass the time. No sense in getting the headlights or tail lights first because you'll never see them from inside the car. I think lowering, wheels, or a stereo will probably contribute more to your overall happiness with your car than headlights or tail lights will, since afterall... you're never going to be staring at your brake lights.

I personally wouldn't go with the Rear bumper Applique but since you said that you golf alot that may be a wise decision so you don't scratch up the bumper.

I would do Springs first then wheels, then what ever you wish.

I am getting a R.S. 2.0 and I will be having them put fog light in it before I buy it. I may also have the windows tinted a little more than what they come. The dealer ship that I am getting my xB from (btw its Camelback Scion) will do all the tinting for $199.00 and it will be backed lifetime warrenty from the dealer.

Then I will be Putting Probably Goldline springs, if not them then it will be Hotchkis springs
-Hotchkis sway bars
-Hotchkis Stut tie bar
-17" wheels and Tires

Goldlines are great. You'll like the ride and the handling improvement they provide. I'd do springs first then wheels. It looks better sitting low on the caps than sitting high on some wheels, IMO.

Here's some 17's with Goldlines:

You can save a ton of money by doing the fogs yourself. What is nice is that it is just plug and play. You don't need to run the wires.

Yeah the system is gonna cost me the most. My buddy works at Circuit City and is getting me a steal on some Speakers and Subs. I am not sure if they will fit but Kicker just came out with this set of components for the doors SS652 and SS562. They run around $400 a set. I am gonna get them for about $120. I can also get a SL7 from Kicker for $120 to. But I am not sure if those Kicker components will fit in the door, they are really deep.

I didn't realize that they were a plug and play. I guess there would be hook up plug already in that location. I figured that they had to splice into the wiring and all. What about the switch for the fog lights or would you have them turn on automatically when the main lights were on?

Sorry about hijacking the OP's thread.

NP, it is my thread....I took it to this point. If you go to the tech section, there is an install guide on it. For the switch, you just take out one of the blanks and put the switch there. It explains how to do all of it.

I am not a typical do it yourself guy, but if I can save a couple hundred bucks and it is an easy thing, I will do it.

The hardest part of the foglight install is getting the relay clipped on the holder. Check the tech section, it's full of good ideas:
