Default Chrome Stronger than Tuner wheels

Are chrome wheels stronger than a typical tuner wheel such as a adr, tenzo, etc?
I know they are heavier but are they stronger is my question.
Thanks

that is too broad of a question.there are so many variations. just because they are chrome does not mean it will be heavier. chrome is a plating. so if you had a chrome forged wheel vs. a powdercoated cast wheel the forged rim would be lighter and stronger. what the wheel is made of, and how they are manufactured play a big part in the strength and weight of the wheel.

that snot always the case also..the strength of the wheel also has many factors like thickeness of barrel, strength of face and etc.

If you are looking for a strong wheel, look for something forged, esp two-piece forged.

Chrome wheels are made for fashion, not functionality.

I do understand there are many variables involved in strength, however im looking for pothole resistance with a 40 seris tire.
Nebraska has potholes that'll swallow a scion

Chrome is a finish, like paint. So, the same wheel with the same construction can come in something nice or chrome. Chrome is a tough finish, but it doesn't have anything to do with the strength of th wheel itself.

Steel vers Aluminum and Cast Vers Forged are what you're looking to find out.

Steel will bend, Aluminum will break. Forged Alm is stronger pound per pound and volume by volume than cast. But, a lot of forged wheels are of smaller volume to take advantage of the strength and gain a lot in weight savings. So, some cast wheels can be stronger than some forged wheels (but would then be a lot heavier).

I dunno if you'd find steel wheels for an import (4x100) that were fancy looking anyway.
