Default Scion xB Hub Taper - Hubcentric rings

I have wheels with a centerbore of 73mm, but the the hub diameter on the Scion xB is supposedly 54.1mm.

Anyhow... I talked to Discount Tire Direct and they said I needed to use 56.1mm rings because of the taper on the hub. He said the wheel won't seat perfectly against the hub if I use a 54.1 inner diameter. Of course, I have 56.1mm (thanks to KevinXB), but they're too loose to give me a hubcentric fit... so I ordered a 73mm x 54.1mm hubcentric ring anyways.

I should get my new hubcentric/centering rings this week to test it myself, but I was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem with their wheels? Did you have any problems with the taper of the hub?

Feel free to IM me on AIM as I'm online nearly 24/7. I just want to get my wheels on...

Chris- if you can give me exact measurements (which it seems like you can) and taper my brother can machine you a pair.

Never heard of a taper issue and if the HCR is loose around the hub then it kinda defeats the whole purpose it's there for, doesn't it? Mine had a 54.1 inner diameter (54.06 technically)...

TheScionicMan: Yeah, it does.

Brian: When I get my new ones this week, I'll try it out... if those don't work, I'll get exact measurements and take you up on your offer. Thanks.

Just checked and got my rims on. I know az pinoy xb asked me a question about this, so in case any one hasn't bought rims yet, this is for you:

Discount Tire Direct said that the 54.1mm hub rings won't fit because the hub is tapered... well, it's not. It's beveled at the end and that's a huge difference. I told him to send me the 54.1mm hubcentric rings and they fit perfectly...
