I'd bet the big bolt on the top of the strut is loose, since its a PIA to get tight anyway, but I'd double check the torque on everything anyway, its never a bad idea to tighten things after a few miles on critical parts. The sway bar you can live with out, but it will add some body roll, but if your on air I doubt your racing around the corners anyway. But getting the damn thing off is a major pain, so I am told.

keep the sway bar. notch the unibody a little if you want or be like me and let teh sway bar mash a tiny dent in it naturally from dumping it.

When does this noise occur?

so the front sway will easily mash up the piece of unibody? do you think cutting (notching0 should be done and then boxed or u think it's safe to just notch? hmm didnt know these cars were THAT cheap , lol.

it varies alittle from xb to xb but most from what Ive seen mash a dent about 3/8" into the car. Its not a big deal. Its more of a ghetto bumpstop really... hehehe. On my car for the first few days it made a clunking noise when dropping it but after that its silent upon full dump.

Mine makes that noise. Been making it for months now. It sounds like every bolt is loose at the top of the struts, but they are not. I have had those things in/out many times for various reasons, and everything is tight. I wish I knew waht it was too...

i to have had this noise and easy street has addressed the problem . if you call up there and talk to JEFF he will send you the new parts. it is a series of a few washers and a some new type of rubber for your upper mount. as for it being the sway bar i have never heard that one but i do know if you take it off you supposed to get like another half inch out of your drop.

but anyways call up there talk to jeff, tell them that your front raddles and they will send you the kit for free.

does any of you know the part number for the shocks to make the rear go lower?

Its a Napa part # 5870 and if your local napa store doesnt have it go online as i did and they will get them to you quicker then ordering them @ a napa store.

if you want your rear to go lower, cut your bumpstops.

You dont really need to go to napa either, that is a monroe part number, and autozone sells them for $22ea vs $29 at napa...buy whatever..that nubmer is universal..

....and thanks for the info on the rattle fix kit...

well i got my parts from easy street. i already had one of them on there but not the washer that spaces up the upper strut mount so it will spin freely. now it spins freely but the mount still makes a clunking noise when i push on the front end or hit bumps. i can see having some new noises from air ride from regular suspension but not one that sounds like the front end is loose! does this mean my upper strut mounts are screwed? any help? thanks!

Does the fix-it kit make the front of your car sit higher?

Has anyone identified this 'phantom noise' ????

Just want to be sure before i go and regret anything.
