I got the pads in the mail on Saturday (love Saturday FedEX) the weather has been crapy since then and today the weather cleared up, so it was install time.
I got the pads from Cockpit Auto Sports www.cockpitautosport.com Great people and great product

I got the "PINK" pads which are the race compund pads. They also make a street pad, but I wanted to have the more agressive pad.

Once I installed them I took the car for a test spin and immediatly felt a difference. The braking was much more responsive. If I pushed the brake pedal down about 3/4 of the way the tires locked up! Stoping the car in general felt better and more firm. Im sure once the pads break in they will fell even better ... Ill keep you guys updated as I put more miles on the car!

UPDATE 5/5/05
After about 125 miles of driving on the pads they have improved very much since mile 1. The brake pedal feel much better and you don't have to apply as much pressure to stop the car. I have driven the car in everything from stop and go to 80mph on the hwy and the brakes all around feel much much better. There is no brake fade and there is no brake noise. These pads were a major improvment over stock!

You may also want to upgrade your rotors to compliment the pads, or you may eat through those rotors or warp them in short time.

 

Yeah what was the price on those?? I need to change my brakes soon and I am looking at some options...

Let me know how the N-Brakes hold up w/ the stock rotors. A buddy of mine wants me to try Cobalt brakes.

 

I had Cobalts on my Honda and they were awsome ... BUT I also has Brembo OEM X-Drilled/Slotted Rotors, Goodridge Brake Likes and ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid ... But the cobalt pads held up very well and did not have any fade during hard braking ...

Ill keep you posted on these N-Brakes ... so far they have been excelent ... No brake fade and very responsive braking ...

i have the race pads also and i love them. i jus noticed that your pads are more exposed, i think my caliper is different from yours cause my pad is completely covered.

 

We have the same caliper, I just didn't use the metal plate that goes on the back of the pad ... I only used the metal plate on the inside pad where the brake cylinder presses against the pad ...

 

just curious, is that in any way potentially harmful? I'm not a brake tech.

 

I think as long as you need the metal bracket on the side with the caliper piston you should be fine ... From what I have learned its just used as a spacer shim and to protect the pad from the caliper piston ... Your factory caliper only has a piston on one side so as long as the pads fit snug on the opisit side you should be fine ... Which in this case the N-Brake pads fit nice and snug with out the metal plate so I decided not to use it ... If I feel after time there is a problem with the pads then I will put it back, BUT so far there has been no problems and better braking!

How's the noise? I'm not really sure, but I've heard that high performance pads or rotors will be more noisy/squeeky. . . but it wasn't exactly from a qualified source.

 

So far I have had no brake noise ... I only have about 100 miles on the pads but so far its quite!

 

Did you bleed the brakes when you installed them?

 

there is no need to bleed brakes when reinstalling pads, only when u actually disconnect the brake line.
