Default Weight of stock steelies vs. weight of factory alloy?

Hi all,

Does anyone know the difference in weights between the stock steelies and the factory alloys (EP-10s or EM7s)?

I'm hoping shaving of a few pounds.

My 17" with tires are 4 pounds per wheel heavier than the stock package. My MPG monitored over a number of tanks is about 1mpg less, could actually be the same, not much change though. I drive very conservative though, usually get 34 mpg.

you can get weights of wheels and tires at tirerack.com . remember to add both... light wheel+heavy tire=no gain. you can also see what they will look like on your car there too.[/url]

The stock tire/wheel setup weighs less than 45lbs. It's more like 37lbs according to this FAQ:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=348

edit: I realized I had said "weighs more than 45lbs" instead of "weighs less"; didn't make sense with the next sentence.

the same thread that pdrizzle ^^^ up there cites has the "stock alloys" at 16.7 lbs.

Other threads have put the steel rim alone's weight at ~17.5 lbs.

If this is correct info, the difference in weight between the 15" stock steelies and the 15" factory alloys is about 1 pound. Not too much of a difference...

Thanks, everyone. Really appreciate the help.
