Default Air Ride question?? Need help asap!

Does anyone know what would be causing air to come out of the intake port on my compressor? This is causing me to lose air in my tank. The compressor has a built in check valve. It has never done this before and it started last night. Could the compressor got hot enough to melt seals?? Please help I need all of you air bag pros to answer. Thanks

My guess would be a bad check valve. I also think most compressors have a thermal shutdown, so it should shut down before it hurts its self.

This is while the compressors not running its leaking air?

yes it is leaking air out of the intake when the compressor is not running.

Check vavle has to be failing, but that may be causing other problems in the compressor. I don't think I'd run that compressor anymore if i was you, the check vavle being bad might really tear up that compressor. Maybe someone will come along with a better idea what going on.

I am not sure how that check valve works, but if its like other vavles, you might be able to tap on it lightly with something and get it unstuck, I'd drain my tank before i tried that though.

my bro had the same problem and it fixed itself after about 2 days.

then again, he has a backup compressor (I know, right?) that is hooked up in series to the bags and previous tank.

How long have you had the compressor and bags?

The compressor is a blitzluft. I have had the compressor and system installed for about 3 months.

Points towards a bad check valve but it could hurt other components in the compressor. Get a new leader hose for the compressor ASAP.

Bad check valve. You also have blown the seal on the comp. head.
Time for a new comp. The checkvalve didnt do its job.Or your switch is not shutting off at the correct pressure and has blown your checkvalve, which inturn has blown the head of the comp.
Possibly might be able to rebuild the comp head.Def get a new checkvalve.

Well I bought the compressor from Phil (Boxzilla) and I called him up and he is sending me out a "repair kit" which consists of a new check valve and o-ring, he didn't mention anything about the compressor head??? He said I should be fine once I replace the check valve, but I guess we'll see.
