change offsets when upgrading wheels/tires?

If I were to replace my wheels and tires for my tC to 18x8.5 and 225/40/18, would I need to change the offsets or will the stock ones work fine?

your width is increasing, so your offset must decrease exactly half (in MM) of your new tire width compared to the old.
