SO the cuscos seems to have the most serious drop, which is good, and the minimum drop is still more or the same as the max drop of other coilovers.

i wonder what the ride is like or at what point the drop on the cusco becomes redundant? i think in california we could push a 3 inch drop on a daily driver. keep in mind i am not entertaining the idea of 18s or 19s more like 16s or 17s. i've done a search but i have not foundmuch in regards to feedback and ride.

Ken (NCP31) has the full Cusco set-up on his xB. His xB was the lowest at the PA meet.

 

i don't know how they are on scions, but they make some nice products.

 

Try 3 1/2!!! Van's roommate has been @ 3 1/2 for a while. Looks so rad too!

Make that just about 3.9" M@! Funny coincidence.. he just got a fix-it ticket for being too low yesterday night. In California, you get a too low ticket when the lowest part of your front or rear bumper or side skirts are lower than the lowest part of your wheels. That's..... low..... :)
He's pretty proud of the ticket too. It wasn't the first time he got pulled over for being too low, but the first time they tagged him for it!

 

That sucks! Do you think he would of been pulled over if he was running 17's at that height? I guess we'll have to find out.. right?

holy low!! my last car i couldnt get a pack of cigs under the front lip when it was down on its h&r coilovers but i never got bothered!

damn he must be LOW. i think that answers my question as to -which- coilovers to get.

3.9" drop?!?!!? Van, you've got to post pics of that! What does he do when he comes to a speed bump? I'm already scraping the crap out of my Cusco lower bar with a 3.1" drop and still scrape the front lip on some driveways even at a 45 degree angle. I just don't see how he can drive it that low.

As for the Cuscos, here's my take. Excellent quality as you would expect from any Japanese coilovers, but there are a few quirks to deal with. First of all, the camber plates are not adjustable without removing the coilover. The hole in the shock tower is too small...Toyota's fault, not Cusco. And just like every car I've driven with camber plates, there is some clunking over bumps and rough roads. My main gripe is also due to the camber plates. They change the caster, which moves the wheel forward, which causes the tire to rub the plastic piece that holds the fender and bumper together. I've trimmed the piece down (still more I can trim) but I may have to resort to the old school drifter mod of zip tying the bumper to the fender.

The damping on the shocks is perfect, although with the the front suspension set at the lowest setting, there's not alot of travel. The handling is great, and I haven't even installed the swaybar yet. BTW, here's my setup:

17x7.5 +40/43 (too lazy to measure)
205/40-17 Falken ZE502
Front dropped 3.1", rear dropped 2.25" (they sent the wrong rear springs)

Overall I'm pretty happy with Cusco, but I'm dying to see what Van comes up with. I'm currently looking for something like the Tanabe Air Cobra http://www.rd-tanabe.com/aircobra/index.html which looks like the best of both worlds. The handling of a coilover with the ability to get over speedbumps in a single bound.
