Default Need Opinion on Projector Headlights

Need your honest opinion on these projector head lights that we are being offered an exclusive on.

The picture is a prototype and the lense and other ring is not installed.

I personally did not like the design myself but we would like to know what others think.

I requested to have the led rings around the projectors to be ribbed and the housing be gloss black (for a more JDM look).
I thought the LEDs were too big (they are not installed but they are mounted on the series of holes in the bottom. They are changeable from what I was told).

Also I asked if we can get rid of the amber lense ( not sure if it will pass DOT with out it though).

The lights will be consisted of 2 projectors and angle eyes (like the BMWs) in white (not blue like the picture shows)

Thanks in advance.

Again, please post your honest opinion so we know if we should pursue this or not.

Here is the link. Just cut and paste it to the address bar on your browser.

It's aight....but i do agree with you adrian to have the led rings around the projectors to be ribbed and the housing be glass black (for a more JDM look).

That would look soo much nicer.

Any word if there will be xA projectors???..with black housing though.

I think I would need to see it with the cover and the led bar. Right now it is weird to look at with the holes and the turn signal. I do like the projectors with the angel eyes.

Only leads to 2 things- how will the led look like? (like an inverted version of the pro's out right now?) and also the turn bulb. it looks kinda plain and shouldn't have the reflector in the background. is there any bulb that looks white but still shines a little amber? that would make it blend even if you have black housing

The holes are for the led..I think for turn signals.

I hate the design myself....and wanted them to redo it.

Keep the replies coming..Negative or positive..it's all good.

Let me have some ideas on what you want too.

Not for me...I don't know, they look like they were thrown together practically!

And, making them black would not help...I think if anything it looks more rice than "JDM".

Why can't a company make just a copy of our STOCK headlights with a good quality projector unit where the stock reflector is?!

i dont like the led holes - why can't we get some projectors that just have the 2 projector lights and the turn signal in a nice clean housing ala BMW style?

all this other junk kills the cleanness and lines of the stock headlights (which imho look tight, they really match the boxyness of the car)

my vote is for simple clean projectors, just the 2 lenses, angel eyes and a turn signal (no amber reflectors) keep it simple!!

Honestly, I dont like them. They are, for lack of a better explanation, too sporty. The xB is a box, I like the box, and these just dont seem to compliment the lines to me.

However, with some of the suggestions you guys have made in this thread, they could turn out a whole lot better.

Hi!

Thats what we expected. I was not digging the design myself. This at least solidifies it.
I might have to tell them to go back to the drawing board and take up all the suggestions here.

Thanks for the quick response for those who replied

Great post Adrian, and thank everybody for your input. I don't really care what u guys think, " I like them...hahahaha j/k. yeah I agree withthe rest of you , it is a little too much, but this is just one design that was proposed to us. There will be other designs that hopefully will look alot cleaner. dunno but I kinda like the angel eye look, look pretty cool on the beemers. thanks again.

Adrian,

The LEDs and the holes for them have to go. The turn signal looks like an added piece and really doesn't blend in w/ the light setup. Maybe if it sat in a seperate compartment or at least a divider? And will the housings be able to handle a higher wattage bulb or HID?

Also, the lights themselves appear to be in a housing that's too small for them. A redesign is a given. The turn signal bulb look slike its crowding into the low/high beam area.

The 'ricer ring' needs to be thinner and brighter. Also, make a proto in black.
