Default Ragtop or Panoramic Sunroof???

I just recently found this site and have to say it's really neat!!

I'm getting ready to have a sunroof installed in my xB and wonder if anyone could give me some advice. I can't decide btwn. the ragtop or panoramic glass. I live in the Phoenix area so I have concerns about how the ragtop will hold up in the heat & sun out here. I guess I have the same worries about the panoramic and all the glass that the sun would be beating down on. I know the glass comes with sunscreens but do they do a good job of keeping the heat out?

Also, has anyone in the Phoenix area had StreetBeat Customs do any work on your car? If I go with the ragtop they will be installing it for me and would like to know if they do a good job.

Thanks for any help/insight you might be able to share.

Susan

Fire, that link didn't work.

ShortBus, that's the Panoramic Moonroof from Webasto,
I believe installed it goes from $1300-1800 depending on
where you go.

Hey Susan give Mark Bradly a call at Camelback Scion. he is one of the sales guys there and also who I personally bought my box from. they have sunroofs from Arizona Sun Tops there. He could let you know on pricing. I personally would get a few quotes from a few places first before just going with the first you found. (602) 264-2841 and ask for Mark in the Scion Department. He will take good care of you or you can PM him here is user name is bbcurd. you should come out to a meet sometime to meet the phoenix crew. Meets are posted in the desert and Salt Region and also on www.scionetics.com.

I got the Webasto canvas sunroof. It is AWESOME. It's power and has a one-touch open feature.

Get the mooroof not the rag top. Webasto makes great products no matter which you go with though. They are gauranteed for life against fade and leaking. You cant beat that!

i was thinking about either the rag-top sunroof or the panoramic sunroof. does anyone know of a good place in the chicago or milwaukee area that installs them. Im right in-between the two, so it doesnt really matter.

Do a search for Webasto sunroofs on Google. They have a link to click on for a list of retailers/installers. Even if you don't go with a Webasto roof, you can use that list as a good starting place for finding a shop to do the work.

I just joined scionlife.....what a great site, with wonderful resources.

Does anyone know the model numbers of the glass sunroof and ragtop?

I wouldn't mind ordering one and installing it myself...I sorta get off with doing things like torching or sawzalling cars

I didn't think I'd like a ragtop at all, but ctruss' setup above is pretty sweet. That said, I think I still personally prefer the sunroof. As you mentioned, I think it'll be easier to maintain in the AZ climate.

Just my two cents.
