Stock shocks, Hotchkis springs. I want to replace the shocks soon, but don't know what my options are.

I'm also running stock shocks with Hotchkis springs to lower and want to improve the ride. What's the latest on running Koni's in the back (I read it here a few wks ago)? Do you all still agree that this evens out the ride and removes some of the harshness? How does this compare to TRD shocks?

your basically going to find that:

A) people are running stock hardware with aftermarket springs
B) people are running TRD shocks/struts with TRD or aftermarket springs
C) running coilovers which come with their own shocks.

Just for informations sake, here's a link to our suspension section and there's a fair amount of info on the TRD and Hotchkis Suspension systems. Check it out.

I have stock dampners with TRD springs. The handling characteristics are improved, although with the stock steelies and tires you will only notice a real change after the initial "bite" takes places in a turn (the tires slopping around on the thin wheels are the cause of this issue), the stability of the car is also improved a good amount. I have also made a few road trips since the install, and they do great. Has been a good choice on my xA, I would reccomend the TRD springs to anyone.

I just installed Hotchkiss with stock strut/shocks. Eventhough it rides better than stock but I think it's a little too soft. I am planning to upgrade the strut/shox in the near future.
