Default Will these fit without cambering???

I want the sport max 962 in 18x9.5" +35 for the rear of my box. I figure rolling the fenders is a must which is fine but I want to stay away from camber cause I've got a long commute and the xb is my only car now. I've been trying to verify this fitment on my own for the past several days but now I must ask for assistance so I can be absolutely sure it'll work. I'm on goldlines if that makes a difference.
Please help me......

You will need a minmal spacer, and may or may not have to raise your car. The lip of the rim will stick out past the body at least one inch w/ a minmal spacer. By minimal I mean either 10 or 15 mm.

Camber won't help much at all.

I tried and didn't want to raise my xB.

If you are looking for a nice lip in the rear, the Axis Decades 3 inch Maxis Lip looks pretty darn nice! They don't come in black centers though, only silver.

I have had my eye on those axis decades. Do they fit as is? I noticed they are 18x8. That's not too wide?

Thanks for the info squirrel. Sorry I'm kinda slow but if the lip sticks out about an inch, why would I want to run a 10mm spacer? If I don't use a spacer does that mean the wheels will only stick out about a half inch? 1 inch seems like a bit too much of the wheel will be sticking out (for my taste anyway). I like your setup ALOT but I don't want to slam the car for the same reasons I don't want to camber (although slammed and cambered is the showstopper)

Yeah I saw Nilo's at Longo and then again at the SE meet on Friday. I like the Axis wheels (I had Axis wheels on my last car) but I don't wanna be all up in his wheel wells with my pw xb rolling on decades. He might think I'm a stalker ....Oh and the sport max wheels can be had for way less which is always a plus for my cheap bootie.

Without at least a 10 mm spacer(I think its a minimum of 10 mm), the backside of the rim will hit the rear axle and will not mount flush. The back pad isn't deep enuff to go w/o spacers.

IIRC, 10 mm is what is needed just to get the 9.5s to fit in the rear.

Because of their design and the staggered fitment, Axis has designed the Decade to be fitted w/ a rear wheels that has a 3 inch lip.

If you go to the Axis website, it shows a cutaway of each wheel and how the look is made.

Gonzo,

Look for a post by Nilo (XBBOY). He was the first to have the Decades at the tuesday night Longo meet a few weeks back.

If someone made a set of flares that fit properly, that would be another route. But the ones I have seen fit right over the OEM opening and doesn't give the added advantage of trying to go lower. Something like the old bubble type flares for 510s, where the car can be lowered after cutting out some of the fender lip.

Thanks for all the info guys, it's much appreciated. What's a hipari tire? I might just go with the 8.5" in the rear cuz I think 1" beyond the fender is a bit much for me. Squirrel, you are the Xb wheel zen master ....Oh, how much spacing would I need with the 8.5" (if any)?

I'm thinking about 962 8.5's in back also... will they work with onetongarage shims without any additional mods?

Erik,

I'm not running any spacers in the rear w/ the 8.5s, but I do have camber and rolled fender lips. The top of my fender lip is at 23.25 inches, just to give you an idea how low I am.

I have a mild stretch w/ 215/35-18 NeoGens.

How about the 962 in 17x9 +35? I'm on Tein S-Techs. Would I need spacers to run these wheels (I have OTG shims to use if need be)? What size tires should I be looking at?

Yes, you would need need some spacing. The OTGs should work, and maybe some 3mm rings.

Minimally, a 215/40-17 or 215/45-17, if a tire shop will mount it. Some shops will not mount a specific size tire on a rim wider than what the tire manufacturer recommends.

Of course, everything would have to be trial fitted to make sure that set-up was good to go.
