New guy in town needs help!(UPDATE)!!!
Hello everyone! Fairly new to the Scion family and have been lurking around the site for sometime now. I have become familiar with the search function, but man is there a lot of stuff to go through. So heres where I need the help. I have 18's on my box and Im looking for that nice lowered look, but I would really like to know how the different springs ride before I go out and buy a set of Tanabe's or Tein's. Im really looking for honest opinions here. I have two children and a wife that will be cruising around with me so which of the springs out there offers a decent drop but retains a good ride. I know I could go to coil overs but Im on a budget and coiloers dont fit in that budget right now. So any feed back would really be great.
Thanks everyone

Well, being as I have a Wife and Daughter myself that ride in my car sometimes, I like the ride quality of my Tanabe's. The stance is the lowest without going to coilovers. The ride is maybe a little more bouncy but not as bad as the stocks. It sits perfectly IMO, but could be a little lower. Tein's would be my second choice for stance and quality if I didn't get the Tanabe's. I am riding on stocks though, but my friend has 18's with Tanabe's on his and the ride quality is VERY similar to mine. Hope this helps.
thanks.

Well I ordered my springs from Lip late Wednesday afternoon, Thursday morning the get dropped off by the man in brown. Friday by 12 there in my ride. I drove around for 100 miles yeesterday and all I can say is DAMN! The ride with these springs is so much better than stock and the look is incredible. Ill post pics a bit later this weekend. But a huge THANK YOU to the guys at Partshipper.com! You cant ask for better service or a better product.
Thanks again

I didnt do an alignment to be honest. I really dont think it needs to be done. The car had only 1000 miles on it when I did the springs. Still drives straight! If you think about the way a McPherson strut works, the suspension is always going up and down, all I did was make it go down. I would think if there had been heavy use or suspension mods done then the alignment would have been needed. Good luck with your install, its very easy and took me about 30 minutes or so!
