Default Debadging Front Grill??

I picked up my xB on Monday night and debadged the rear hatch last night - Big Improvement!!

I want to take the emblem off the front greill, but it looks like you would still be left with that big bump that it sits on. Is there a way to remove that whole aasembly and have just the stock grill all the way across or is that not possible??

Any help would be greatly appreciated

if you take off the whole emblem, including the "bump", there is a square hole left in your grill.

you need to buy an aftermarket grill in order to have it completely flush.

what you can do is take some 1/8" aluminum plate. Cut it out to the size just a bit smaller than the square in the grill. Clean the edges and polish the aluminium and epoxy a bolt to the back. Then bolt it to the grill. It looks finished and there is still no badge.

Default ...GRILL DEBADGE...

Yes, to debadge the front, open the hood and look at the backside of the grill.
you will see three prongs, simotainiously pinch the two top ones togather while pinnching the one at the botton up. The whole assembaly will come off easily.
I have been looking for a replacement to fill that spot for a while.
You need something that is size: 1 and 7/8 inch high by 1 and 1/2 inch wide.
I want to use a plastic tie to secure it to the grill through those holes. Still looking for the right solution.

See what I tried:

Have it done custom or get aftermarket.

Theres no replacement piece. I tried making one but it doesnt look right. I'm in the process of molding mine over though so its flat across. Just a piece added in looks funny.

I'm thinking of buying another grill to cut up and have plastic welded into that spot by my body guy. Another option is there is a guy on the tc boards (CharlieLed) that does plastic casting. He was going to start making inserts for the tc's emblem opening and I suggested he make on for the xB to. He livesd in the San Diego area and needs a model......

This sucks!

do you not want to go with the bB badge? I realize that the JDM thing isn't for everyone, but it really does fit the best. if it's the chrome thing that is turning you off, you could color match it PW and then stick it on..

atleast it won't be as much an eye sore as the honkin' big scion emblem and might tide you over until you get an aftermarket grill or a proper piece is designed to fill in that spot..

Just bring it to a body shop. Filling a hole like that shouldn't be a big job.

What absolutely amazes me is that no one has come up with a squarish plastic insert the size and
shape of the bB grill emblem that has LEDs or whatever in it for the xB grill. Make an excellent
'running light' and if done well could look quite nice...

Snap it in, hook up two wires, and done.

(Maybe I should Photoshop something, eh?)

OK, whipped a quick 'n' dirty one up to show what I mean.

Just wire it to come on with the ignition and stay on until the ignition is turned off...
