I think powder-coating would be better.

How about painting the TIRES (the sidewalls) themselves -- not the rims? Any ideas or recommendations?

I would love to get some blue tires on my white xB!

Thanks.

they sell some tire tint thing. it's like tint for your sidewall. they have red, blue, green and some other colors. now that i think of it, i haven't seen them recently. personally i would never buy them. i think they're too weird for me.

WTH... That's one of the craziest ideas I've ever heard. Blue tires on a white xB , sorry not trying to be mean it just caught me off guard. As far as your question is concerned, I don't think theres anything out there that will stick to rubber and take as much abuse as a tire. The paint would probably crack & peal from the increase and decrease of pressure.

Oh yeah, they sell this at every local autoparts store, including Wal-Mart, but it has to be reaplied often.

Ever seen those white hotwheels cars with blue tires? Now you get the picture... I don't think a white xB with blue tires is all that bad. Maybe a blue racing stripe down the top of the car might be a bit much on top of the blue tires.

The idea of painted tires makes me think of those jalopies with the crazy spray painted spirals and graffitti all over the place. I think I would have to see a real car with solid painted tires and since I don't remember ever seeing one, I doubt any local parts store is going to carry something specifically made for this. Personally, I like a nice black tire. Shining Monkey works great to get them all wet looking.

I've seen pircures in the gallery where someone painted their wheels and it looked not-so-nice IMHO. I can't remember who it was but some chick painted her tC's wheels... Anyone remember that thread?

Anyway...

Check out this gem:

Hey, don't get any ideas!!! I would rather see powder coat.

This is what i did with my stock wheels on my old focus. Painted flat black. and if i gave one of them a curb check, shake upthe can and spray away!
