i had to drill holes on my fenders to put on the fender mirrors, i had to put them on so i can match my 1971 fairlady z and my 1973 nissan skyline so now all my cars have fender mirrors...hehe if yah wanna check em out i just took some shots today since i just got the car detailed yesterday,,,,heres da links

as for covering up the old mirror triangular shape hole i used thin lexan and cut it to shape and used the 3 screw holes to hold it in and bolt them from the inside, i will be making a new plate for the triangles out of carbon fiber later. in japan they are usually called passing mirrors, when racing once the car is in view in the mirrors you are passed the car and cut them off, as for using the mirrors for courtesy forget it, its to hard to look through, im used to these mirrors cause my skyline and z have them, so far i rolled by many cops and havent said anything,,,so far...thanks
