I have 750 bucks that I've saved up. I have a xB, white, 2005. with 40 dollar hub caps. My fake chrome :p). I really want mine to so stand out and I want to get a paint job. I originally wanted to get black flames. But as of now, I want to either Two-Tone or 1 racing strip, 8in Width, off center. And Im not going to do vinyl. Unless you'all can convince me otherwise. The Two-Tone will be a black top. The hood, and ya'll know that line thats about 3 inches under the windows? its basically going to be all above that. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO! PLEASE! ADVICE! Lead me to the right way.

Well, I was eventually going to get black rims. Cause Black rims with the Two-Tone would look sick. I dont have NEARLY enough money to get rims.

Yes you do. He's asking $625 for the rims and tires. Your $750 would cover the purchase + shipping costs. Unless you are going to a quickie cheapo paint place, you don't have nearly enough $$$ for a tutone. xbtuner here in Oklahoma had his xB tutoned and the rear wiper removed and it cost him about $2,000!!!

Back to topic about paints...Ill get rims eventually...but I want paint. I need help deciding on which to get. And I've already got estamates and I have enough for both paints.

Where are you going to have it painted at? Have you seen the work they do? The customer service good? As for the racing stripe idea, no. One offset stripe would not look that great IMO. The xB does not have the lines needed to make a stripe look good.

 

I say 2 tone but make sure they are going to do the jams or it wont look right.

make sure they paint inside the door jams, when you open your doors the parts of the body that are painted.....like where the latches, door brackets, are...general area....to tired to think of the right words to describe it

 

Racing stripes belong on race cars!!!

Two tone it ....then lower it and ride on steelies NO HUBS and get some cheap beauty rings from the Auto store...you wont need to worry about wheels then.


I think tho most ppl would be trying to get wheels and THEN a paint job to go with.
On another note...I hope you've seen their work or you know them so you're getting a discount...that seems kinda cheap for a two tone paint job. My husband got quoted 2200. And that was just the top and doors.

If they aren't going to do the door jams pass on the paint job!! When you open your doors you dont want to see, now do you want others to see white where its black on the outside. JMO!

Btw I hope that includes them removing the black tape around the windows...I have seen two tone on xB's where the tape was left on Looked really weird!!! Just bc its black doesn't mean its OK to leave it...its white under that black tape you know!

 

Neither. Buy coilovers. A good drop will make your car stand out more than any off-center racing stripe ever could.

And if you're doing 2 tone, get the bottom 60cm of your car painted silver.

 

This does sound pretty cheap for a paint job but nevertheless its what you want. No matter what do the jams because if you ever do sale you box you will loose money. If you have $750 just hold out a couple more months and get a real good paint job. Make sure you check every shop in town.
