Default Coilover setups

I just put on my Tein Super Street coilovers and I'm wondering how other people roll with their coilovers. Right now I have the lowest drop possible with the dampening set at 4 (1 being the stiffest, 16 being the softest). I'm not sure if I should have them on the Tein recommended settings for "break-in" or if there is even a "break-in" period at all. I do know that the springs will need to settle but other than that, does anyone have any recommendations? These are the first set of coilovers I ever owned but I did have the S-techs on my car before.

Just for reference the Tein recommended settings are
Fronts (1.2") from the bottom of the threads/collar to the bottom of the spring
Rears (1.2") from the bottom of the threads/collar to the bottom of the spring

These settings result in a 90mm road clearance

As for the dampening the recommended dampening is 8 which is right between the stiffest and hardest settings.

So a recap of all this junk is:
1. Is there a break-in period for these coilovers?
2. What settings should they be for the break-in?
3. Is there anything wrong with not running the recommended factory settings?
4. If you roll with coilovers, what settings do you have yours at?
5. If you dont have coilovers, what settings would you run it at?

My opinions:
1. No. the springs may settle a bit but the dampener is good to go.
2. Shouldnt matter unless Tein reccomends something different.
3. The only thing I can think of is that the suspension geometry changes too greatly after you go so low so handling can be affected. The strut will also wear a little quick since its lower.
4. I had air suspension on my car, now its on TRD springs. Im now choosing between HKS and Tein coilovers.
5. Ive had many cars with adjustable struts and I always started at the softest and increased the stiffness as I went until I liked it.
Tein has great customer service so I would give them a call and see if they can answer any more questions you may have. Report back here with answers you recieve from them.
