that type II brace is just all wrong...
it should not be a bolt together. it needs to be welded!

and what is with the extra threaded holes on the mid bar???

it looks like brushed aluminum if it is i would not use it! but nice mod none the less

The brushed aluminum is a template only. They are made in Powder coat red already.

lava, you might not like it and to each their own. But I will say that when APR does teh research and develops a part for the market they are high quality and race tested at the track. This comes from years developing and working with communities like Suby's and EVO's

you could get these cheap and tack weld or wel them yourself not hard with aluminum? if you wanted too i prolly will

These are made from 6061 Billet Aluminum with RED powder coat and all hardware comes with for install.

People that want price please check in Commerce.

any connection secured by bolt will have some give/slack.

and yes to each their own.
i say buy a gt-spec or cusco welded type

I agree it needs to be welded, but you could bolt this on and tac weld it and it would be ok, remember this isn't going on a race car.

I had the same thoughts as dgHotLava about how it attaches to the frame. Using a single bolt seems like it would still allow too much movement.

It looks really sweet, and having it powdercoated red sounds even better--but it seems like it would be more for looks than function. Unless it's got some bosses that go into preexisting holes that you can't see, only using one bolt per corner seems to me like it would still allow too much frame movement.

So where does one go about getting a Cusco made one? I'd rather go with a Cusco part than the gt-spec.

Thats kind of how I feel as well Randode. But mods here on this forum do what they want from what I see on here.

Just like any other under chassis brace out there whether it be Cusco, APR or someone else. If you want to strengthen it then weld it after you install it. Unless someone makes a brace that comes welded to a whole chassis out there that I havent seen before.

By the sound of it dgHotLava is talking about it being welded together, not to the frame. I would think that it wouldn't be to rigid under stress being bolted together and all. I would rather bolt a "welded together" part that bolt a bolted together part. My common sense tells me which is more likely to be stronger and not flex, and that is ding ding ding... welded.

Here's a pic of the gt-spec, tell me which looks stronger, it should be obvious.
