I don't know much about tires and rims. I'm planning to get some ADR SZ1's for my tC. The offset for these rims are 40mm, but the stock tC rims are 45. Would these still fit my car?
They are 5x100 w/ 40mm offset.
Could someone explain what the three numbers for the tire are.
I know the last one is the rim size and the second is the offset. What's the first?
Thanks

Well like most first replies would say.. search first but ill help you out!! Stock tires i think are 215/45/17?? Dont remember but basically the 215 stands for the type of tread on the tire...usually the higher the number the better the tread/grip etc. The 45 stands for how thick the tires are 35mm are those thin ones you see on most 19' wheels and 40mm are on 18's usually. And the last number 17 obviously stands for the size. The offset is usually how far out the wheels go. If you have a 35mm offset and get rims that have a 45mm offset your wheels will stick out more. Oh and usually you see for the rims.. 18x*8.5* the 8.5 part stands for how wide the rims are so if you got 18x7 rims your rims would be thinner and wouldnt stick out as much. Not all rims will fit our car due to the lugnut patern. Ours is 5x100 so dont buy any that dont include that lugnut pattern. Well I hope i have helped you in some way in this long, long paragraph.
