Default Volk Owners: Help!

First off, i'm using TE37's, if that helps any. Seems like they're not the only ones to utilize the same mounting hole sizes.

So my local wheel shop used my stock nuts a while back, and one day recently I decide to use some tuner style nuts that would match the car a little better, and look nicer. So I bust out the wrench, and what do you know? Ish doesn't fit lol. I asked the guys at the shop how they got the wheels on and off, and they said they must have used something with a very thin sidewall. They recommended sears, but sears didn't have anything.

So my question. What wrench do you guys use to take off your wheels? This isn't only for my nuts, because if I get a flat I'm screwed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

you should be able to use a socket for a rachet. that is what i used before in a simila situation. the side wall should be thin enough to clear. i would suggest getting rays lugnuts. pricey but you get quality lug and locknuts and some jdm rim bling.

My friend had the same problem... he went to Pep Boys and bought a foldable cross bar. It has socket attachments that are thin enough to fit it. Sorry, i cant find any pics of it.

My TE37's for my MR2 had the same problem. It doesn't help that the lugnuts provided with the wheel are 19mm. I went to sears and fished around until I found a narrow enough sidewalled socket to do the trick, but the clearance was so narrow to the lug recess walls that it kinda scratched up the paint a little.

There are two solutions:

a) once you get a socket that fits, wrap the socket with electrical tape to protect your paint.

b) put the 19mm lugnuts on a shelf, and use 17mm lugnuts instead. <---- this was my solution.

You should be able to get a set locally at Americas Tire.
