Default Lowered my box today... (56k... get a soda)

Lowered my box today... with help from the tech articles here on SL.... installed some Tanabe DF210s on my xB. I'm running 18x7.5 inch wheels, 215/35 18's. +35 offset. No rubbage. Here's some pics...

friggin sweet man! i'm buying the same springs! I LOVE the drop so much! i have 215/35/18s as well. oh.......were the springs white or purple?

I've had my tanabes on my car for about a month now they settled a noticable amount, I still want lower though!

Hmmm. How would I describe the ride... in my opinion, it rides better than stock. It is firm, yet not harsh. Of course, in corners much better and the freeway cloverleafs are much more spirited... I am satisfied.

Wasn't it easy with the tech section help. So easy. I used Teins but was looking at the Tanabe's. I like the Teins though and I got a really good deal on them. Glen619....looks good!!!!

The tech section was very helpful. Although I could have done it without ever reading the tech article, it's nice to gather other peoples' input and go with their tips.

I installed these Tanabe's myself! the front installs are a pain in my butt!!! The rear didn't even take 15 minutes for both! Make sure you get some Camber Bolts or a Camber kit. I got some Camber bolts, the guy at the alignement shop said he'd adjust the bolts for only $5 extra besides a $60 alignment. Oh and make sure you find an alignment place with an alignment trench not a lift. I went to three different places and they said nope your too low, we'll scratch or crack your body. Dont let them try it.

P.S. you'll probably need two sets of spring compressors, or one set and an extra screw clamp. cause the compressors move around on you when torquing down.

Rock out with your box out!

This would most likely apply for you if you sitting on low profile tires. When you drop your vehicle, it makes your wheel mounts (wheel bar) point upwards at a angle, just a slight bit not easily seen on the untrained eye. This results in the tire sitting on lits inside edge, waring the tire tread away at an incredible rate. You'll be changing your tires like two to three times a year, depending on how much you drive. Now I'm sitting on 18" with 35 series low pro's. What the camber bots do is replaces the top bolt of the wheel mount where the strut arm meets the wheel mount. Adjusting this pushes the top part of the wheel mount out just a little bit, bringing the face of the tire back down flush on the ground, distributing the treat on the ground granting you longer lasting tires and better grip & traction.

Now if your sittling on stock rims and tires this wont affect you as much, but it does cause more where depending on the pressure in the tire. Please follow the link below, at the bottom of the page it will illistrate what the kits look like and where they go.

I wouldn't not pay more then $50 for a camber bolt kit, and NO you don't need two boxes, Each kits conaints two bolts in a box, one for each side of the car, to replace the top bolt only.

Well, you don't actually need the spring compressors. You DO need a friend or someone that can compress the spring when its on the strut. Thats about it. Look up the tech section for the spring install on the Xb. Its easy. I installed them with my gfriend and it took a total of 2 hours. Just make sure you have all the proper wrenches and sockets.

did you lift the whole front end of the car of just one side at a time?
