Default Two-tone spray cost?? What did it cost you...

I am getting a two-tone spray done eventually. Depends what kinda funds I can get together before the weather gets really crappy here. Most likely it will wait until the spring. I just wanted to know what people are paying to get the spray done for the top half. I obviously want a quality spray and will expect to pay more for a good job. From people who have had it done what did it cost you and what kind of paint was used??? Post pics if you can so I can get an idea of what is being done with the cost...

2 grand is insane... Why would anyone spend 1/8th of the price of their car to paint it? Unless it's a show car, i mean...

I plan to two tone my xB when it arrives, but if they give me a price over $600, i'm going to go buy 5 facking krylon cans and do it myself. sure - it may come out ugly, but that'll make it unique.

$900 is great! Paint alone is $300, and then supplies, and God forbid all of those door jambs, and taping! That's a good price! I do all of my own paint, but for that price one might reconsider.

I dont know I just think if your going to do a paint job you need to do it right. $600 just seems a little low unless you really know the guy.

We charge $1295.00 and use Toyota/Scion paint so it is covered by the three-year warranty.

Here's one we did: Click Here

until you see they did nothing under the hood and probably didnt do jambs

i have mine going in dec. 18th for paint. im not releasing the color because its kinda a secret thing that wont get released on SL (too many flame wars with no criticism)

mine (not including door jambs and underhood. those are getting done later for a specific reason ) will cost right at 650. I have a friend that works at a paint shop (maaco) that will do all of the prep work and sand it all and mask. hes doing more than just regular maaco prep though and is doing it right (afterall, a good paint job lies in the prep work) then since he works there hes spraying it himself and doing it all for me. it will be unique from what has been seen on SL thus far.

hes been doing paint for years so i trust him to do it. it would be over a grand to get the paint job done if i didnt have a connection with him. its all about who you know and what quality you get with the price.

take your time, look around, and wait till you find the right place and the right amount of $$$.

True, not under the hood or jams. Just the outside was painted and we custom pinned it. $1295.00 might be a little high but his warranty is in tact.

As for Maaco... I wouldn't let that company paint lawn furniture for me. However, that doesn't mean the people working there can't/don't do great work on the side. Hook-ups like that are great to have. What will they charge you to do the rest of the job later?

It will be greatly reduced later like this paint is. Yea I hate Maaco. I had an escort down there and it was CRAP! i wouldnt go there unless i had a friend and i know that he will be the only one at that place working on it from day 1. i dont trust their "experts" they have. i do however love having a friend there

I was quoted $600 for a very top-notch shop to do stripes alone.

/\/\ honestly it wasn't as complicated as i thought it would be. Wet sanding with 600 was the toughest thing to do, taping off the body line and all the other jazz was pretty simple. I had to get schooled on mixing paint and hardner, etc, and spraying technique, but other than that, i have a new hobby on the side! Me and a buddy (the guy that showed me the ropes) have 4 cars lined up wanting custom paint just from seeing my car. We decided yesterday we're gonna charge $800 plus supplies for anything ya want done :D
