Default Toyota-Subaru Indiana Plant -- Possible 08 Scion?

I heard the rumor that the tC in 2008 would be replaced with a rally-type car.. AWD, etc.. Now that Toyota has a stake in Subaru and will be using their factory in Indiana, has anyone also thought that the AWD type rally car could definitely be a reality for scion??

I mean think about it.. Everyone knows that Subaru has an excellent AWD system, the tC is done for in 2008 and a new model is scheduled to replace it.. Toyota this week has said that they are ramping up production for the 2008 model year..

So hey anything is possible.. but it sure seems to me that Toyota is getting something ready when the same time frame the Honda CRX is rumored to be coming back as well..

i really hope they don't build it in indiana though....subaru is already having problems with their trannys (this from some subaru dealers) which are built in japan. although the idea of a subaru inspired scion is awesome

Have any of you looked at the new Subaru SUV. That thing is horrible looking. If Toyota and Subaru join forces, lets hope it looks better then that thing.

The B9 Tribeca?!? Holee Crap! It's beautiful! It's got that Alfa Romeo vibe going, not to mention AWD with a boxer engine! It's definitley not a cookie-cutter SUV inside or out... but, then again, it's not every one's taste - don't h8 - appreciate!

Toyota is most likely going to build engines and transmissions at the plant - they can up production at the other plants if they can produce more drive trains.

news flash...transmissions are subaru's achilles heel. Wrx transmissions have been known to break easy scince 1993/1994 WRXs

Is Honda really bringing back the CRX? Where did you hear that from?

from honda forums, plus there was this honda chat with the civic engineers at edmunds.com with the intro of the 2006 civic from what I remember.. they said that yes that the CRX would be coming back later in this model run.. so that puts it at 2007-2008..

hey it might not happen, but from what I've been hearing.. looks like it will.. plus you pair that with toyota looking at subaru, plus the rumor of a rally-type scion.. subarau=awd.. toyota using subaru's plant?? i mean it's simple addition to put the two together.. would be fun..

and no i don't think they would use the transmission from subaru, i believe that toyota would realize it has some problems and fix it.. but it'll be interesting to watch..

the tribeca is unique looking. i love the front and the interior. the side profile resembles the nissan murano. i don't like the rear especially the dimple for the license plate (looks as if they ran out of "puddy" to fill out the recess .

and what the deal with almost every suv has to have 3 rows of seats. if you need that much room, get a minivan !!!!

don't expect an awd vehicle from scion. doesn't make sense. AWD is expensive and to incorportate that into a scion would raise prices, going against the "target" audience. But on the other hand, I could be totally off base and they could produce an awd vehicle lower than 20k?

yeah but that impreza is stripped. no audio, no power...nothing

as bubblemyster pointed out, it would go against everything that Scion is about....tons of options for "youngsters"!

for them to make a true rally car it would have to be a 2.0l engine so the tc would be out on the fact the engine is too large in size. from what i can figure they need to re-vamp sales for the xa so it has a chance.

hmmm...2008 CRX you say (I'm a CRX-*****, I've owned 2, still have one).

I hope Honda doesn't mess up the winning CRX formula with stupid features, ugly design, and too much weight/not enough power.
