Default Tein Coil overs

I've done some searching and I can't come up with any answers.

What's the difference bewteen the SS and the Basic. Is the only difference an adjustable dampner? is it 16way adjustable?

Is the Basic taking place of the Tein Wagon setup? It looks the the rear on the SS and Basic is capable of dropping over 2.5" unlike the Wagon setup.

Most important questions: With the adjustability of the dampners, can I get a smoother ride (not as stiff) with the SS over the Basics.
Or is the shock on the Basic just as smooth as the lowest dampner setting on the SS setup?

This is some info I found on the setups:
http://www.tein.com/ti/l42.html

I'm looking for a nicer ride with the ability to get about a 2.5" drop. Adjustability is a plus too.

Thanks

only difference between basic and SS is adjustable damper...yes they are 16 way.

if u looking to drop 2.5" all around, this is not the coilover u want...
the front u can go that low, but not in the back....
it kinda give u a rake when u adjust to the lowest setting

on the site it states 2.74" front 2.58" rear.. is that not true?

I know the Tein Wagon setup only did somehting like 1.75" in the rear.

I think these are different..

What's the compareable ride of shocks.. does the damper that comes with the Basic, the same as the softest setting on the SS?

teddy,

are you saying that the coilover does not go to 2.5 low (thought the spec was 2.6 in the back) , or one shouldnt set it that low BUT it can if one wanted it to??? ive ridden in brad's and i really like his ride...stiff and not bouncy.

the rear can only go around 2", i dont kno why they put 2.58 on the website...
i think the basic damper has the medium setting of SS..

man that sucks.

I was really looking to at least get a 2.5" drop all the way around ..
and being familiar with Tein's quality...I really like 'em..

How would you compare the ride quality of Tein Basics to the Cusco?

i feel kinda disappointed about the height too...

i had these SS coilovers on my accord too, the ride quality is GREAT...thats why i bought it when they first release for scion...

I think you will find your best settings out of 16 ways...Basic damper is one of those settings...so its not really comparable due to personal preference...

as for cusco, i was told that they are more stiffer than tein...
hope this helps
