if you were to get flares...what would u recommend as far as wheels ?? size? camber? shoot i dont know...but i do see that you would wanna pull the wheels out cuz ur ride would look like its floating.

If you get flares you will want to go with some serious dish.
A couple common wheel widths and offsets for use with flares are....
8" wide wheels all around with 20-25mm offset up front and 10-15mm offset out back
I have also seen 8" wide up front, 20mm offset with 9" wide in the back with about 20mm offset.
I once did 8.5" wide up front with 15mm offset, and 10" wide out back with a 20mm offset on my GTI.

WORK wheels you see on xB in here can cost $1000-3000 just for the wheels.
Not sure they make them in 4-100 bolt patterns, but there is a place called tunershop.com over in europe that has several deep dish wheels in the $800-1500 price range as well as more expensive ones.

yea i agree wayne. if people flare them out, i think it would make sense to spend some extra time and do some custom work on the door to match the flare its next to .
for flares you can run as low as 15x8 with -10 offset or so and be fine, or do like shelby and have 15x9s with -25 offset. it all depends on the flare and how flush you want to be.

Personally for some flares i would run specs pretty close to Genes old xB. Something close to a 9" -25, which Scott has mentioned.
IMHO for flares this is what i would do.
9" -25
10" -15
Yes those are negative signs. Those will really fill out the flares and look incredible. You would definately need to cut out the metal fenders for the wheels to flex under the flares. And of course GET REALLY LOW.

lets say you have an eight inch wide wheel and you have a zero offset, that means the mounting hup will be right in the middle of the wheel (basically giving you 4" or so of lip)
positive offset numbers means that if you have a +5 offset, your mounting hub will be 5mm towards the outside (the dish) of the wheel from the center
negative, is the opposite, negative 5 offset, the hub would be 5mm from the center towards the inside part of the wheel, hence making the dish 5mm larger then a 0 offset.
if thats confusing to anyone, i can draw a diagram, most stock offsets for fwd are around positive 35-40mm give or take a few
