Default Cold Air Intake .. and Halo Foglight grill?

Ok, I have a short arm Cold Air Intake (works great btw!).

Then I went on e-bay and got one of those halo fog light sets that come mounted in a front xB grill.

Questions is, since the grill is open (as opposed to the closed stock grill), what are the chances that water (from rainfall or car wash) will get through the open grill and to the CAI filter and into the engine?

How did you seal the edges along the plate? Also, how did you atatch the plate to the grill piece? Just curious, thanks.

From what I've read (and experienced), the filter would have to be submerged in water to do damage. I wouldn't worry about droplets of water on the filter. I have the AEM cai and I know that water from rain/puddles has gotten onto my filter (New Orleans is prone to sitting water as we all know).

sorry for my slow respones the plate is actually mounted to the frame that connect to where the hood latch is i wish i could take a picture but my camera is broken .but regardless
there is a thin piece of rubber that act's a seal which keeps most water from getting down ito the engine compartment But also. " pdrizzle "pretty much said it all about the filter /And if i'm correct you air filter one the short ram intake probaly sits right underneath your front left headlight and water is getting at it from below the light itself . oh yeah its basically a thin piece of sheet metal i don't know the make but it came with the grill may be the guy's from Northamerica motorsports can give you an idea. they are a sponser here on SL .http://www.namotorsports.net/

Hey thug, thanks for the feedback! Do you think a cover plate like ctkillerxb had would've prevented your filter from getting wet? I like the idea of additional airflow into the engine compartment with the open grill, but don't want to bag up the filter/engine... maybe some sort of removable plate (for when I go the car wash)
