Im looking a buy a set of rims that are 17x7 with a 42 offset and im wondering if Im going get any rubbing . the tires tires i will be running would be 215/40/17 any help would be great thank you all in advance

 

No rubbing at all! You'll be perfectly fine. I have those exact specs on my wheels (except with 205-45's instead of 215-40s), and in my opinion the offset looks horrible (even with my car lowered 2.5 inches). But then again, im into mad flush VIP-style offsets.

 

i have 215 45 17 and get a little rubbing. i suspect that the lower profile of the 215 40 17 will help.

 

i have the same exact size wheel/tire on my xB. Front looks great but back is tucked in too much. and rear wheels are way close to the control arm but no rubbing. Still debating on getting the OTG shims.

 

how ironic, I'm getting wheels 17"x7" with a +42 off set and going to be running 215/40/17's. I already have the OTG shims for the back. can't wait till Friday!!!!!!!
