Default Alright Masters of the stretched tire...

I need some recommendations. I just picked up a set of Work Equips.
15 x8
+20
+10 rear.
I also have OTG spacers.

I now need tires. I want to run something that looks a little stretched. What size ? Keep in mind I need to keep the overall height of the tire very close to stock so I dont mess up the speedo and top speed...

Prolly something around 205/50 or 195/55 I would think.

Mark (bBoxd) or Sean would know also.

205 is good, butyou may have to trim or roll the rear fenders if dropped on say...s-techs.

195 will be stretched even more ( Ithink they look better) less rub.

But everyone that I've gooten in touch with has said that with the spacers,, dropped to s-tech height, to expect rubbing.

My choice......195/50 for the stretched look, roll the fenders.

195-55-15s are recommended for 5.5-7 inch rims so it would be a mild stretch with no worries. it would look hot. or, if you got braver, you could go for 185-55-15 and have a wilder stretch. those tires are recommended for a rim 5.5-6.5. In my opinion, 205 series tires wouldnt produce enough stretch for you to notice (and for it to match up with speedo). Thats just my .02 on the matter. I would do 195-55-15 for conservative stretch; 185-55-155 if you want to be wild.

scott

edit: i would like to note those are the closest stretch i could find to match up with about stock tires and wheel combo so you dont screw up your speedo.

i have the same set up and i'm running 195/50/15. with the stretch, it comes out to about 2 inches shorter than the stock height which throw my speedo off. if you have otg spacers in the rear, you will rub based on your having a drop. i have negative 5 degrees camber in the rear and i tuck them with bags. i had to roll my fenders to tuck those.

Scott is right, It all depends what you call stretch, for that setup to get decent stretch I would say 185/55.50..45 (do they even make those tires ) you could step up to 195 but try to keep the sides low, and about the hight, you gotta pay to play so sure your speedo will be off, the car will be bouncier, and your wheel gap will increase so you better drop the car more after you got your wheel setup !! Good luck with your tire choice !!

How do 195s look on a 15X8? I want the profile to be as skinny as stretched 18 tires...

i doubt Ill have to drop the car much lower than it is now in the rear. The rear tires have no finger gap as it is now. The front will be dropped more because I have it up a little higher for winter.

Mark- have you read this yet? any suggestions?

205/55/15 is the correct upsize as far as tire diameter is concerned, that would be stretched on an 8 inch rim

not very well it wont be stretched. with that little youll hardly notice it if you even can.

you need 195 or 185 width IMHO.
