Ok so right now I'm looking at getting new wheels and tires for my xA. (1) 15x6.5 Rotas with 205/50/15 OR (2) 17x7.5 with 205/45/17? Mind you that I'm a performance orientated kinda dude, i like mounting roads alot. Which would be better for the driving I like?

 

i say go with 16's. 15 are too small and 17 too big for what you want. if your are is white get bronze or gunmetal 16" circuit 8's from rota. HAWTness

 

I'd definitely go w/ the gunmetal, and I'll agree, if you want performance a 17 might be a tad large for optimal performance. 16 should be right.

If you are a performance oriented driver and want a good balance of cornering AND performance you will want 15" or 16" wheels. If you go bigger than that you are adding too much rotational mass.

I read an article where they took a 1997 VW Jetta 2.0L around a track with 15", 16", and 17" wheels all equipped with the same kind of tires. They posted the best times around the track as a whole with the 15" wheels but held the highest cornering speeds and most G's in the corners with the 16" wheels.
