American Racing Coils vs Centerline Piranhas...
American Racing Coils:
I know they are basically your run of the mill 5 spoke chrome rims.

Centerline Piranhas:
Not so basic/run of the mill 5 spoke chrome rims.

I am just looking for some constructive criticism. I persoanlly am leaning more towards the American Racing Coils. Thank you in advance.

IMO, they're both nice and simple. 1st looks more blingy, 2nd looks more sporty. What look are you tring to achieve? What size are you thinking of? IMO, smaller diameters are sportier looking, and larger diameter are blingier looking.
Are all Centerlines forged and mirror polished? If they are, you would have nice light, strong wheels w/ a little bling polish! I would go Centerlines in 15!

If you are going to spend some coin on wheels (which it doesn't appear the original poster intends to) look at Intro, Billet Specialties, B.A.D., Budnik and Colorado Customs first. And no, I did not forget Boyd Coddington on accident. I would buy Bonspeed wheels before I ever looked at another set of wheels from Coddington.
I think I am starting to like the idea of the Centerlines more and more. stankubrik, I am totally feelin' what you said about the smaller diameter looks better in a sportier wheel style, and fachiro1 I do agree that the Centerlines are classic.
yeah, i just threw that name out there.....i had some billetspecialties and coddington wheels on many of my domestic vehicles before, like my denai and silverado........all are nice. coddingtons wheels are getting too sketechy with the quality
So, should I get the centerlines with the polished mirror finish or a chrome finish? Both have a three year warranty on the finishes. I want to add more chrome accents to my xB besides just the wheels.
Coddington's quality has been sketchy ever since he originally filed bankruptcy and they were no longer called "Boyd's."
I had a horrible, LIFE ENDANGERING experience with a set of 18" Timeless 6 wheels from back in '99. That was when he (or should I say his son) was calling the wheels "B. Coddington" because he had lost the right to use his own first name. Ever since then, I have sworn to never own another set of his wheels. And I do my best to encourage people to buy from other brands first.
And for those that aren't aware, American Racing just acquired Boyd Coddington wheels. Things should continue to operate as is for this year, but I guess changes will begin happening in 2007.
And for the original poster, get polished wheels, not chrome. They may be a little bit more work to care for, but the finish will last forever if you keep up on it. No matter how good you treat chrome, if you drive the car every day it will eventually chip and crack.
