Default Urethane Kit or Fiberglass Kit

I was going to do a poll but didn't want to subject people to certain prices.

I was wondering:

How much would you be willing to pay for a Fiberglass Lip Kit?
(Front lip, 2 sides, and rear valiance)

How much would you be willing to pay for a Urethane Lip Kit?
(Same design as the fiberglass kit, but in Urethane)

This is for a HIGH quality kit from ground up.

Please be realistic and serious.

Thanks.

$800-900. is urethane a lot more expensive than fiberglass? because that is what will help you sell the kit. everyone is doing fiberglass right now.

Urethane is the way to go, as it is a lot more rugged than 'glass. There's a lot more involved in a urethane mold, though, so the price goes up.

I wouldn't bu ya fiberglass kit(too much modification for fitment), but I think it should be priced at about $400 before installation.
If I were to get one, I want the japanese grade fiberglass kits (that are of perfect fit) if possible which would be closer to $1000 or $1300 painted
I like the perfect fit Urethane kits and think they should be priced around $600 or $800 painted.

dchan8 is right on the nose with this one. I'd have to say $400 for fiberglass and $650 for urethane. That's what most kits go by in difference, around $200 just because urethane is a lot stronger and easier to work with. For a lip kit, I would never pay near $1000, that's just too much for so little.

Eric, just like what geoge says.. Way more involved for a mold and far more strudy than fiberglass.

You think fiberglass should be more than Urethan?

u think $650 is all a 4-piece urethan kit is worth? I just want to know if you are serious.

$650 is all I paid a few months ago for a urethane blitz kit on a 98 prelude. That included the entire front/rear bumper and the side skirts but the holes weren't drilled so I had to do all the stuff myself. That was for a whole kit, not just the lip kit, that's why I said $650. I know all that ____ for honda's and acuras are cheap as hell right now, but that price seems about right for just a lip kit. In anycase, if it didn't come with the wholes pre-drilled, its not that hard to do and you save alot of money.

Is this a Blitz Style kit or a OG Blitz kit? I didn't know Blitz made a kit for the Preludes. I can be wrong. $650 is a good price, what was retail on it?

the subaru STi front lip has always been $500-600. and that is the sale price. the OEM underspoiler kit is over $1500 and it includes these little pieces that go on the sides of the front and back of the car, as well as painted sideskirts (stock are black). the real c-west kit when it first came to america in 2001 was around $2500 painted. so the price of the japanese kits aren't really that crazy considering how new our cars are. from what i've seen, good quality urethane lip kits are usually around $1000 unpainted. i know you guys have seen them super cheap for hondas and stuff, but there are tons of civics out there and lots of competition. i think that once people start cranking out the kits, they will get cheap. but i would expect to pay around $800 or so for a good quality lip kit like the red genie one. i don't think it's overpriced at all. quality is good and it's the first original US bodykit to come out.

people who want to pay a lot less are going to need to wait. that's how it always is. the pioneers get stuff first, but pay a premium for it.

No, no. This is one of those battle z body kits, not a real "blitz" kit. Everyone knows them by blitz so that's y I said it. I think it's something like $1299 retail for urethane and $950 for fiberglass. It was in one of those magazines from europe, not euro tuner but the one that's got all the naked chicks in it. It's always a fat mag.

Anyway, what's up wid this question. You planning on having something made or ur gunna buy a lip kit? I really like the red genie rear piece. I plan on getting that and then their carbon hood when their done. But I'll wait for a new front cuz I wanna be different.

Dont really know if this belongs here, but a front lip only would suit me, something that maybe hangs about 1 inch lower than stock would NOT be flush like the stock front spoiler maybe slope out about 1 inch and wrap around the whole front, and attach over top of the existing spoiler. Just my 2 cents. See Ya, Louie

With enough demands, I may be able to make that happen. But right now, it seems like xB will be first.

From experience of having a full fiberglass body kit, I would say that urethane is the way to go but tends to be rather expensive. After having my car with the fiberglass kit on it I would always tell everyone when they asked how I like it...that if I were to do it all over again that I would have done the front bumper urethane but would not worry too much about the sides or the rear bumper being glass. The front bumper on my bmw took a mean beating and it was strong fiberglass, the sides and rear never really had problems? I know it would be hard to find a kit that is mixed, but depending on how low you plan on having your car I would reccommend a Urethane kit especially if this is your daily driver.
