What is the maximum width tires to fit the stock xB wheels?
Starting with the stock 185/60-15 size tires and wheels. Keeping the wheels the same until I can save up.
I know it's ok to go up one size on the width from 185 to 195 but is it ok to go up two sizes to the 205 width and then go down to the 55 aspect ratio to keep the circumference approximately the same? Would like to keep circumference the same so the speedo will be accurate. Or is there some way to calibrate the speedo system so it will be correct with new larger/taller tires? Anybody know about this? Someone?

You might be able to squeeze 205's on there but I'm not positive. 185's already bubble out just a little bit so 195's would bubble out more.
Why do you want to go with wider tires on stock wheels anyways? You should just stay stock until you get wheels, then get tires.

If you go to TireRack, pick a 205/55-15 tire and look at the specs,
(here's one of my favorites)

most say the rim width range for that size is 5.5 to 7.5, so it will fit, and the manufacturer may still warantee the tire, but it may be hard to find a tire shop that is willing to squeeze it on. Plus, it may wear funny unless you have the pressure just right.
When I autocrossed my Neon, it was common to put 225s on 6" wide rims, so it should work.
