Should I be able to see my washer fluid tank?
Hello,
I've been lurking on the forum here for a few months. I have not posted much (if any that I recall). Anyway, I have not had the best luck with xB's so far. I had an '05 BOP for 5 weeks, hadn't even made a payment yet, and it was totalled. A lady's spindle broke on her 97 intrepid and her wheel/tire/rotor hit my car @ 120 MPH right between the headlights, totalled-$12,000 in damage. It broke the intake off, throttle body, starter, total mess (I should have taken pics, it would have been one of the worst on wreckedscions.com). I was going North, she was going south(both at 60mph+), and the wheel came off about 15 feet before we passed each other. (Happened in NE houston-Crosby).
So after 30+ days of fighting with this woman's insurance company and mine, VERY long story, it gets paid off (gotta love gap insurance) So I go buy another '05, this time camo, about 5-6 months ago.
NOW, New Year's eve, I'm driving South on the same road(FM2100, if anyone is familiar with the area), and this guy in an old beater truck with a trailer full of crap is heading North. A 4 wheeler seat comes off his trailer and before it even hits the ground, it smacks my car, in the bumper, of course latches/plastic TOWARD the car. $1100 in damage, and this time I didn't get smacked with the airbag, man that friggin HURT. And my 3 year old, who was with me both times, said she wasn't riding in my car anymore, lol.
Anyway, I just got my car back from the shop, paint looks great, new (basically everything under the headlights) looks great, BUT, I noticed I saw my headlights shining a bit through the top black grill on the passenger side last night. Now that's it's daylight, I can see my washer fluid tank through the grill. I don't remeber being able to see that before. Did they forget to put something on?
Maybe I just never noticed....I also saw, in the sunlight, that they left light swirls all ofer the car from a cruddy wash job, but I need to clay bar and polish anyway, so I might let that slide....
BTW-I tried to catch him, but when I turned around, I found out that the seat was wedged under the front of the car.

Yep, you should be able to see the washer solvent tank through the middle grille. I just checked out a new one for you. I took a camera phone pic, but with no flash it turned out like doody.
Anyway, you probably shouldn't see light through the grille though. Check to make sure all of the headlamp bulbs are flush in their sockets since that's a pretty common thing to happen when somebody is in a rush to button something up. Otherwise, check it against a new one at your local Scion dealer some night. They should be happy to help.
Also, stop driving on that road. Sounds like a bad luck combo to me!
