Default Suspension setup for daily driver and autox

I'm looking for a good suspension setup for a daily driver and occasional weekend autox sessions. I'm also looking for less body roll with reasonably good cornering. I'm running hotchkis springs/stock shocks with Progress rear sway bar.

Eventhough I feel the Hotchkis performance is not that great but I'm fairly happy with the Hotchkis ride height and I don't want to go lower. I not too crazy about height adjustability. I'm considering the following combos

1. Hotchkis spring + Koni Yellow all around + Progress rear sway
2. Tein S-Tech + Koni Yellow all around + Progress rear sway
3. Tein Basic Coilovers.
4. Progress Coilover + Koni Yellow rear + Progress rear sway

What do you guys think?

Im working with choice number 1. I have the same exact setup, but hotchkis springs ARE CRAP CRAP CRAP!!! DONT GET THEM!!! im reall yhating these springs, i hate them so much that i bought a set of tein s-techs. You cant go wrong with koni yellows you put them on the softest setting and its still pretty rough, but when you go to the track and crank those shocks to hard you WILL feel the difference and its going to be NICE!! Believe me i Auto-X. But those hothckis are no good for spring setup. Go with teins and you will thank me later. Oh yeah and the progress rear sway bar is FREAKING AWESOME!!!! I also recommend for you to get the DC Sports upper strut bar for the engine compartment.

The only problem with koni yellows is that time you have to wait to get them so if you were going to buy everything at a certain start with the shocks they will take the longest to obtain. And if everything works properly you will thank me and you will love the ride on your car.

I'm running TRD springs with stock shocks. I would like a little stiffer dampning, and I think I will be going for a progress rear bar and front poly bushings. I guess I will see how much I like the handling with the sway bars and poly bushings before I get into shocks. I'm running 15x6.5 aftermarket wheels that are 12.5lbs a piece, but I know the best upgrade in the world is tires, and I need some badly.

Personally i've had excellent results with tanabe df210s.

Heres what i would suggest:

1. tanabe df210s, koni shocks, progress/hothckis rear sway.
2. Jic coilovers w/ progress/hotchkis rear sway
3. Hks coilovers w/ progress/hotchkis rear sway

Even with stock shocks i was running pretty good times with df210's. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Good luck.

Are these same setups recommended for a smoother daily ride? I'm still surprised how stuff the stock suspension is....

Man time to sell those Hotchkis and buy myself some raffle tickets for the Tein springs raffle. I just have to bite the bullet and buy those Koni's

Coilovers are 95% of time stictly set up for performance, so the ride will be a little rough..but price to pay to handle well. Tanabe df210s drop 2.2/2.3'' so obviously stiffer spring rate like any other lowering spring, more aggressive drop stiffer the spring rates. So, with that said ride with the df210's isn't that bad. I still get compliments on the ride occasionally, but it is stiffer than stock.

I was able to maintain a comfortable ride and be lowered with my old Civic.... just trying to achieve the same sorta thing w/ the xB. It's possible but just got to find the right combination of items.

Yeah, h-techs w/ koni shocks seems to work well with comfortable. Drop is pretty light too, only around 1.5''.

I've got on Koni's all around with Eibach Pro-kit springs. The car feels awesome, A little bouncy, but probably because I have all my shocks set to full stiff. I am very, very happy with my setup.

I have TRD springs and TRD shocks on mine.
Noticable drop with a great ride.

Firm but rides just as good as stock.
