Default bb emblem BUYER BEWARE!!! PICS

What up. Not sure if anyone really did a thorough post on ebay emblems vs. real emblems.

First off. Here's the original bB emblem (before it was stolen) in it's original state..

Anyway, I was in need of new emblems because some jerk decided they wanted to take off that original badge I bought from neneago a while back when I first got my xB. A lot of new xB owners out there are in desperate need of new emblems and are going to ebay to buy these so called "real ones"... well... I decided to buy some off ebay before I got some really really real ones from *cough cough* someone.

Buyer Beware... Look what I paid for about 20dollars. I actually bought 2 sets so I spent like 40 bucks instead... ouch...The sets come with rear and front. I'm just more concerned about the rear though... here's some proof to my toil...

This image shows the fake one (top) and the real one (bottom)

The fake one comes with some sucky double sided adheasive....do you think it'll stick???... lets look at the next photo shall we??

*sigh* I'm ready to peel this off now... look how ugly it is... its just... gross... I apologize in advance for those who are looking at this...It does stick which is the weird part.. fairly well... but I don't think it can handle heat or water...

Top view... how nasty.....

So in the end... you get that for what you buy in ebay...I could be wrong about other sellers...but hey...this is what you'll get...

If I had my 4.0mp camera I would had shown you the luster difference between fake and real. It seems the real one has a bit of a gunmetal look vs. the fakey chrome...

Don't get me started with the grille emblem. That vs. the real one that I have is just a piece of crap. It wont stay in and, it's easy to pry off... : (

Well.. there you have it. I'm bout ready to peel that waste of money i just put on my box hehehe...or I can color that white foam-double sided tape with a permanent green marker or something hahahaah

They sell 3m emblem adhesive at auto stores that way you wouldn't have all that white adhesive crap sticking out of the sides.

It seems the real one has a bit of a gunmetal look vs. the fakey chrome...
I noticed that also. The gennie has a kinda greyish/gunmetal sheen and "cold" because it is actual metal plating. The fakie is cheap flash chrome-looks like the chrome in model car kits-and is too white/bright.

It is definitely not real metal plating because I just sanded one down for a project and it is exactly like model car kit chrome.

I also noticed that on the imposter front grill emblem, there were no p/ns, as is on the JDM.

Well, I ordered them (from ScionSport)with the intention of painting them bronze to match my wheels. I really wouldn't expect much for the price I paid. They are probably perfectly acceptable to 99% of the owners that arent overly **** about something as insignificant as what your complaining about. :D

You should try not pretending your car is something that it isn't.

Just buy them from the dealer.
Front bb grille emblem- 75311-52010
Rear bb emblem- 75442-52040

Those are factory numbers.I believe one of the dealers here in San Diego told me $24.00 for the rear and $20 bucks for the front....

It's not much more.. don't mess with ebay emblems...

Excuse me but i dont recall anyone saying that they are pretending that their car is something that its not..... they obviously have a theme(you know one of those things that they have in mind when building show cars) but you obviously dont understand what that is.....

BTW dont post anything offensive to people and expect them not to defend themselves..... fact is the toyota japan parts for the 1st and 2nd gen bB are way nicer than any of the toyota US parts.

to each his own..... im sure there is something that you do that everyone does not agree with also.... like driving a yellow car or being a d!ck (this is not to be interpreted as "i have a problem with yellow cars" because i dont, its just an example)
