question about alignment
The back left of my XB sits about 1/2" lower than the back right, and the front right sits about 1/4 lower than the front left--is this a problem that having the car aligned will fix?
no not really unless your car is not tracking striaight. it may be your springs. i've know cars over time there spring rates change or start to vary and makes a uneven ride height. if so the springs need to get replaced. but did you put aftermaket springs? if not take to the dealer for warrenty work. but if you did put springs check if they have been installed right. unless you have coil overs
I had tein s-techs put on a few days ago. Honestly, I don't know if it was like that before or not, because I only had the car for a couple of days before I lowered it. The car does pull to the right. I know alignment typically solves the pulling problem, but I want to make sure I'm going to be able to fix the uneven height problem.
If you just put springs in and noticed a problem, I'd look at the springs. It is possible that one of the springs is not set correctly in the perch. Also check the struts/springs as lowering the vehicle may cause premature failure of the facotry equipment.
An alignment will not effect your ride height. It only changes the angle at which the wheel/hub is aligned with the rest of the suspension.
Camber adjusts the angle of the top of the wheel, either closer to or farther away from the vehicle.
Caster is the alignment of the ball joints, which angle they are positioned and effects steering.
Toe adjustment refers to the angle of the front of the tire versus the rear.
Since all these adjustments are based on the center of the hub, which is a fixed point in the center of your wheel, they will not effect ride height.
