Wheel specs are dead on and 215/40/17 is the right size tire. You'll have zero rubbing and your speedo with be correct also. I went slightly larger with 215/45/17 just to get a bit more sidewall for added pothole security. I have Hotckis 1.5 inch drop with no rubbing issues. The choice is up to you.

Only difference is on the rear it makes the gap in front of the tire real tight and it will cause your spedo to read a little lower. 55 mph becomes like 58 mph

Any wheels place should carry your lugs and rings. I used the open ended lugs that take an allen head wrench to install. And yes hubcentric rings are a must. The aftermarket wheels have no means of centering the wheel on the hub without them.
I'm running 215/40/17s and a 2" drop on GoldLines, never rubbed a tire. I second the YES on HCRs and also the internal keyed lugnuts. If you drive even semi-aggressively, don't skimp on tires. Get something with a good traction rating. Oh yeah, mine are a +40 offset but I used the Rear Spacer Shims from www.onetongarage.com to push the rear out 10mm.
215/40's or 215/45's are both great choices.
I am a fan of slightly narrower tires to get the stretched look and you can rool on 205/45's without stretching too much, but getting into that look a little. Just my view.

You don't want 205/40/17's bro. They are not load rated high enough for the xB. I tried to buy this size from Tire Rack and they would not sell them to me because they knew they were going to be installed on an xB. Sorry had to share this info with you. If you don't believe me call them and ask.

Check the specs out on here........then you can make an educated guess on what size to go with.
205/40/17's Not Rated for an xB ?????????? Whoa.....!!
I'm running them........There Z rated ect........Wanli Did someone put one on me ????

Yeah, Gotwheelsandtires.com put one over on me when I got my package with 205/40/17 Nankangs. They rode like crap and were noisey as He[[. I love my Kuhmos now. Day and night.
