Wheel and Tire Package
I want to put alloy wheels on my xB that I have on order. Scion gets $665 for their alloys and the dealer wants $120 to move the tires to the new wheels. I can order a set of better tires mounted and balanced on a set of alloy wheels from TireRack for $531 delivered. This seems like a no brainer, but I just want to make sure that these would be a good match. Any opinions?

don't get scion brand rims, they are a rip off. you can get a nice tire and wheel package at victoria tire.com, or wheelsnext.com, they come mounted you just need someone to put them on. you should get a nice pair of 17's. if you decide to stick with 15's you don't even need new tires. just stick with the stock tires and get new rims, it'd be cheaper
Thanks for the input, I will check those sites out. I was thinking 15"s to keep the cost down. I was thinking new rubber since the tires seem to be much better rated than the stock tires, and since they would come mounted to the wheel so I could just do the swap myself. Any recommended 17" combos?
you gotta check out www.victoriatire.com they have a huge selection for really good prices they mount and balance and you get a lug set
Ok, you got me looking at 17"s. It looks like 215/40-17 would be the best match. Should I go with a 7" wide wheel or 7.5" or does it really not matter. I do not want to get into any rubbing.
I tried e-mailing VictoriaTire but their account was full so it bounced back.

I ended up ordering 215/40WR17 General Exclaim UHP tires on 17x7 Silver Painted Sport Edition D4 wheels from Roger at TireRack. Tires come mounted and balanced on the wheels and include lug nuts for $664 plus $64.20 shipping. Sounds like the tires will arrive before my xB.

That's a bad way to get a new car when there is snow on the ground. From a distance those wheels look kinda like TRD's. I like em'. Are you going to do springs?
